Chester Bagatelle Open Knockout 2007
2007 Competition Review and Results 2007 saw the first running of the Chester Bagatelle Open Knockout competition. The competition was held in the ten pubs who are members of the bagatelle league and was a great success. The event was well supported throughout and proved to be very popular with everyone. Next year (2008) it is hoped to run a similar event and expand it by holding it at ALL pubs with a bagatelle table.
The 2007 Grand Final was held on 10th October 2007 at the Stanley Arms Winner: Nigel Walker Runner up: John Lea Losing semi-finalists were Tony Gilmartin and Ray Lamb. Ray Lamb .............. 31 + 16 = 47 Nigel Walker ............ 22 + 46 = 68 Tony Gilmartin ........ 41 + 26 = 67 Final Gordon Green ......... 24 + 21 = 45 John Lea ......... 13 + 10 = 23 Paul McLaughlin .... 31 + 16 = 47 Nigel Walker ... 22 + 06 = 28 On a personal note, I would like to thank Dave Cooper, Nigel Walker and Ray Lamb for their help throughout the summer, and Martin Liversage for his help with Grand Final night. I'd like to thank all of the landlords for hosting the events throughout the summer, and the many people who have told me how much they have enjoyed taking part in it.
